Acrylic on canvas

In the winter woods

my little dog stops

intent upon his business

while I wait.

Look up

between the trees

spaces that hold glistening

diamond dusted air

stirred by a breeze

breath of bird and tree and air itself

How could we question what

we are for

where we belong

what we are made of

as long as there is a moment

of this

of standing in woods

in diamond dusted air
